The Mission Statement

The Damien Alumni Association is dedicated to supporting families with children in grades 6 through 12 by fostering access to a quality Catholic education. Working in partnership with Damien Memorial School, we provide funds for scholarships to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent students from benefiting from a nurturing and spiritually enriching environment. Through the generosity and commitment of our alumni community, we uphold the values of faith, service, and academic excellence, empowering students to thrive academically, morally, and spiritually.

The Latin term “Viriliter Age” has a special meaning for the vast number of men who have graduated from Damien Memorial School. Although translated to mean "Act Manfully," the meaning signifies a desire to be the man god intended you to be but has since evolved into acting righteously as we have welcomed our sisters into our school with open arms.

St. Damien and the Irish Christian Brother embodied the essence of Viriliter Age and as an alumni association, the motto is a beacon for alumni to come together as one in support of our alma mater. The current President of the Damien Alumni Association is Class of 1999 Graduate, Dannan Smith, who strives to live, coach, and teach by this moto while living and working in Hawaii and at Damien Memorial High School and in the community.

The Damien Alumni Association (DAA) was founded in 2010 to structure a network of support for Damien Memorial School through the Alumni.  The DAA is a 501(c) Non-Profit organization, EIN 45-4103667.
